A state of emergency has been declared in Florida

US President Joseph Biden has approved the decision to declare a state of emergency in the state of Florida due to the possible consequences of the approaching hurricane Idalia.

In a statement from the White House, Joseph Biden approved an order for federal assistance beginning August 27, 2023, to support state, tribal and local response efforts related to Hurricane Idalia.
“This decision by the President allows the Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to oversee all disaster relief efforts and protect public health and safety.”

According to information obtained by SIA, the statement says so.
Hurricane Idalia is expected to make landfall in Florida on Wednesday (August 30).
