João Félix’s departure to Chelsea is imminent. A week after Fabrizio Romano revealed that Atletico Madrid and the London club had started negotiations for the Portuguese following the aborted transfer of Samu Omorodionthese would now be in the terminal phase. According to information from The Athletican agreement would have even been reached between the two entities. The 24-year-old striker should commit to the Blues until 2030, with an additional year as an option.
Conor Gallagher, who belongs to Chelsea, is expected to go the other way. Fabrizio Romano says the transfer of the English midfielder should be around €42 million, while the amount of João Félix’s has not yet been revealed. Journalist Fabrice Hawkins says the former SL Benfica player will undergo his medical in London tomorrow.
If he officially joins Chelsea, the Portuguese international would return to a club where he has already played, between January and June 2023. The latter had joined the English team in the form of a loan payment of 11 million euros. He had played 20 matches there and scored a total of four goals. His start to the adventure had been a little chaotic since he received a red card in his first match and was suspended for three league days.
