“We usually take a car to Maglingen, which is 2.5 hours each way. Now he’s near. It’s Sunday and everyone enjoys doing something sporty, ”says Plusport Winterthur’s head of department, Barbara Rogers, with delight. More than 1000 amateur athletes usually meet every year in Magglingen for the Plusport Day. Because of the pandemic, the Swiss Disabled Sports Association has distributed the event to 24 localities. In preparation, the local Plusport clubs have received a “Plusport Starter Kit” with a post plan and links to videos that explain the posts.
The participants measure their skill, fitness and endurance against each other at five stations. The fun is not neglected – that’s why everything is very easy. This sports day should not only bring joy to the participants, but also has a message, says Sandra Patonay, technical manager at Plusport Weinfelden: “… fitness and fun.”
