A person working in two schools in Bagneux (Hauts-de-Seine) has been detected as a carrier of the British variant of Covid-19. A cluster qualified “at risk” by the Directorate General of Health on Thursday. This Ile-de-France patient has not traveled abroad, nor been in contact with anyone who has gone to Great Britain. It is therefore a transmission on French territory, which worries the authorities because it means that this variant is already circulating fairly freely.
Tests have started to be carried out on the other staff of the two schools. Several positive cases have been identified, but it is not yet known whether it is the “classic” coronavirus or its British version. The Directorate General of Health announces an expanded screening for all those who have attended these two establishments.
