a solar farm installed at the Nord Franche-Comté hospital

170,000 m2. This is the surface area of the built heritage of the northern Franche-Comté hospital group, which includes the Nord-Franche-Comté hospital (HNFC), with the Trévenans or Mittan sites in Montbéliard, as well as the accommodation center long-term care center (CHSLD) Le Chênois, in Bavilliers. The HNFC has 130,000 m2, including 85,000 for the main Trévenans site. The CHSLD covers 26,000 m2. In addition to these sites, there is the logistics center, also based in Trévenans, which covers 14,000 m2. “It’s a significant heritage,” smiles Sylvain Gable, director of technical and security services at the Nord-Franche-Comté hospital.

With this surface area, we largely exceed the thresholds set by the tertiary decree, the first decree of which dates from 2017. A second was published in 2019. This decree sets objectives for reducing energy consumption for owners and operators of tertiary buildings. of more than 1,000 m2. These reductions must reach – 40% in 2030, – 50% in 2040 and – 60% in 2050. The reference year cannot be earlier than 2011. In Trévenans, we took the year 2018, when consumption was complete. , while the establishment opened in spring 2017. The logistics center has been operating since 2015. To monitor these developments, establishments must declare their consumption on the energy performance, renovation and energy observatory platform. tertiary sector actions (Operat).

The hospital group has a relatively young built heritage compared to other French hospital establishments, around ten years old. In fact, in terms of reducing consumption, “we cannot ask the same thing of old buildings and new buildings”, notes Sylvain Gable, particularly those with exterior insulation. Beyond the reductions to be achieved, Ademe, the ecological transition agency, also defines absolute consumption values, depending on the building’s activity. The hospital will thus be able to rely on this reference.
