A Social Democracy Self-Organization Initiative –

The ongoing electoral leadership battles in the two social democratic/center-left parties, SYRIZA-PS and PASOK, which has already set up intra-party presidential ballots, are anything but slowing down the processes between political forces as well as personalities with a scientific and social reach in the so-called progressive space.

It is indicative that the Initiative for Networking Dialogue and Cooperation of Collectives and Personalities is dynamically activated, in which PASOK executives also participate, as well as others who move on the fringes of SYRIZA and the New Left, etc. The Initiative seeks to form a coherent political framework of a new social majority for the progressive alternative governance of the country.

The goal of the Initiative is not the creation of a new political body but a progressive program that will be made available to all political forces in the area, with the ambition of being the framework for the rallying of the progressive faction.

Documento had presented the first information from the opening meeting of the Initiative at the beginning of September, while today we give more information about those who participated as well as about the organizing committee that has now been formed. It is noteworthy that interventions were made by:

The Temporary Organizing Committee that undertook the coordination and contacts with those others interested in the project are made up of Gr. Zarotiadis, S. Koskovolis, Th. Tsekos and Stelios Fenekos.

It will be sought to have integrated answers and proposals for balanced development, resilience and the overall protection of society as well as addressing social inequalities. And all this with the aim, as they point out, of Governance alternative to the dominant policies and contrary to the neo-liberal claim TINA (There Is No Alternative) about the absence of a different path of development and social balance…
