Athens gains in autonomy. The Thionvilloise Association for the development of new social spaces continues to expand its housing stock. Several reasons pushed her to invest: new projects are piling up, borrowing rates are low and she has equity. “Our real estate policy gives us financial stability and an essential foundation, especially in view of inflation. In this way, we also control what our facilities cost us,” underlines the president of Athens, Robert Malgras.

The association continues to manage a rental stock, but it now has five properties, four in Thionville and one in Manom.

The association’s first real estate acquisition dates back to 2016. The association acquired a seven-unit building on rue du Luxembourg, in Manom. Apartments for people who are struggling to find a roof, given their social profile.

The association will invest €600,000 at 56, route de Metz, where it was a tenant. The social hotel located there has 27 accommodation places for women, men and couples.

“In total, Athens borrows €800,000 and draws the rest of these investments from its own funds”, cuts out its president.

The annual budget is 3.3 million euros. An envelope from subsidies and grants from the State, the Department, local authorities. The Athens association employs 54 people, 49 full-time equivalents.
