A six-legged lamb was born in the German state of Saxony.
“She just wanted to live from the start, and we are now giving her the opportunity to do so,” breeder Bernd Tinter said Thursday.
He added that the pregnancy was named Dolly.
He added that Dolly had difficulty feeding and standing on her own, so one leg was bandaged.
He explained that the vet examined the pregnancy and did not find any problems other than the birth defect, adding that Dolly is in good health.
It was believed that Dolly was born with six legs due to the so-called Schmallenberg virus, which is transmitted by insects.
If pregnant sheep become infected, the virus can enter the uterus and cause deformities in the fetus.
