UK Biobank “88% of infected people have antibodies… It is possible to spread to others”
Studies have shown that antibodies last for at least 6 months if you get a novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19).
Reuters reported on the 3rd, citing the results of a study conducted by UK Biobank.
According to this study, 99% of the test participants who had Corona 19 had the antibody for three months, and 88% had the antibody even after 6 months.
The experiment reconfirmed that re-infection occurs very rarely quickly, the researchers explained.
“This means that you are protected from reinfection for at least six months after infection,” said Naomi Allen, chief scientist at the UK Biobank.
Alan also added that similar studies have previously been conducted in the UK and Iceland.
The researchers also reported that the seroprevalence of Corona 19 in the UK population reached 6.6% in May-June last year at the beginning of the study, and then rose to 8.8% in November-December the same year.
By region, London had the highest at 12.4% and Scotland had the lowest at 5.5%.
Meanwhile, according to a study conducted by British medical staff released last month, even if the antibody persists after infection with Corona 19, the virus can still be transmitted.
