Do you have any of the older iPhone models that are still compatible with iOS 14, such as the iPhone 7 or 6s, and this one seems to have slowed down after the update? There is a way.
One of the invisible at first glance and heavily burdensome new features in iOS 14 is the expansion of animations accompanying navigation through the UI. The effects of expanding individual tabs, as well as starting the application, consist of a greater number of frames, and thus consume more GPU resources than before.
This is not a problem with the latest high-performance chips, but the already good A9 in the iPhone 6s can, colloquially speaking, clog.
Fortunately, according to reports Western media, there is a simple method to eliminate any ills. Just visit Settings, and then in the Availability tab, in the Traffic section, select the Reduce traffic option.
This allows iOS 14 to use simplified blending transitions instead of complex unfolding animations. Let’s add, the same trick also works on iPads with iPadOS 14.
It is worth noting that the treatment can also work on newer equipment than the already mentioned iPhone 6s. It optically increases the speed of opening tabs and applications, so the system seems to be more responsive.
The editors had the opportunity to test the trick on the second-generation iPhone SE — and recommend it to every Apple phone user with a set of hands;)
