LNew Yorkers, overwhelmed by the noria of helicopters cluttering the skies of Manhattan, finally have an opportunity to rejoice: this Tuesday, February 14, a curious machine took off for the first time from a nearby airport, that of Westchester . The small white beetle from the firms Blade Air Mobility and Beta Technologies, which responds to the somewhat obscure name of Alia-250, has carried out its first experimental test. It can take off and land vertically (eVTOL, for “electric Vertical Take-off and Landing”), then move like a conventional aircraft.
