a show welcomes around thirty brands to Angers

On Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 September the 7th Exhibition of Electric Vehicles and Alternative Mobility will be held in Ecouflant, near Angers. The opportunity for many visitors to make their choice in an increasingly important offer.

David happily gets behind the wheel of an electric Peugeot. Passenger side, his wife Lucie and in the back, it is their baby who takes the place. They are there to make a choice, they have decided to buy a 100% electric car but they still don’t know which model or which brand to choose. They still have a soft spot for French brands. They just tested a Citroën.

Consequently, David tries to maneuver the gear lever. He immediately realizes his mistake and smiles. It is an automatic box. Outside of the vehicle, brand advertising provides them with a list of options.

“We are looking to replace our two thermal vehicles with a single electric vehicle and a cargo bike, Davide explains. We have a budget of 15 or 20,000 euros and then a loan. Today we fill up for 80 euros on our thermal. With an electric recharge, we are more serene. And then there is also the ecological question. We will all have to go through this to limit our greenhouse gas emissions.

The ecological question took precedence for Lucie who wanted to go to work by bicycle.

“We drive quite a few miles a day now that we take our kids to school, she adds. Financially it did not suit us and ecologically we are not.

Lucie still believes that having a car requires a large budget. “If we already can’t do without a car and we only have one, I hope luciafinancially it will be more interesting “.

The question of the charge does not seem to worry him. “For the holidays we will visit the place where we will stop to recharge, it will be part of the journey ” she says.

If the price of a new vehicle can postpone, the second-hand market begins to develop.

“Maybe it will lift the price brake hopes Emmanuel Charil, director of the Maine-et-Loire inter-municipal energy union, who hosted this show. The second-hand market is the solution to democratize electric mobility “.

It remains to reassure buyers about the longevity of the electric vehicle.

“It is important that the repair activities can develop” concludes Emmanuel Charil who bets that an electric vehicle will last longer than a thermal vehicle.

The organizers expected 2,000 visitors for this 7th edition of an event that is struggling to develop.

The Pays de la Loire has gone from 2% of new electric car sales to over 10% in nearly ten years.
