Bagnacavallo (Ravenna), 28 March 2023 – La burial chamber for the actor and director bagnacavallo Ivano Marescotti opened at 2 pmlike sort of theatrical performance (video) to then close at 18 today and will continue tomorrow, Wednesday 29 March, from 10 to 15. The artist died on Sunday at the age of 77, in hospital in Ravenna, where he had been hospitalized for a few days (video).

The Oriani room of the former convent of San Francesco, in his beloved Bagnacavallo, has been transformed into a ‘theater’: in the center the coffin with flowers, on the sides the seats to allow those present to see the video edited with clips from the most famous films in which Marescotti starred: from ‘King Arthur’ to other Italian films. The artist’s voice resonates throughout the room.
In addition to many people who wanted to pay homage to the actor and director, they immediately arrived at the funeral home the mayor of Bagnacavallo Eleonora Proni e the Councilor for Culture, Monica Poletti. Later they showed up Giuseppe Bellosiethnologist and poet from Fusigna, personal friend of Ivano Marescotti with Professor Marcello Savini and the president of Anpi Ravenna, Renzo Savini. Among fellow actors, they arrived instead Roberto Citran, Elena Bucci and Marcella Nonni and Alessandro Argnani of Ravenna Teatro. The funeral home closed at 6pm.

The last farewell to the artist will instead be tomorrow, Wednesday 29 March at 15, time in which a farewell will be held. Among others, the Bolognese actor Stefano Bicocchi is expected on stage ‘Vito’ and the songwriter Andrea Mingardifriends of Marescotti.
Tomorrow’s farewell will also be attended by the culture delegate of the Municipality of Bologna and of the Metropolitan City, Elena DiGioiarepresenting the city of the Two Towers.
On this occasion, donations will be collected for the IOR. At 16.30, then, the coffin will leave for Ravenna for the cremation.
