In a surprising decision, the head of the Executive Board of the Amal Movement, Mustafa Fawaani, circulated to all regions to adhere to preventing 5 of its members from entering all of the movement’s offices and institutions, and announced that it had no relationship with them.
This circular was issued by a decision of the presidential body, which ruled the dismissal of 5 lawyers from the movement, on the grounds of their failure to adhere to the movement’s decision in the Bar Association elections.
Lebanon Debate information indicates that the five lawyers refused to comply with the movement’s decision and did not elect the current head of the Bar Association, Fadi Al-Masry, so the decision came to dismiss them.
The lawyers are: Hadi Ali Zbib from Beirut, Ali Abdullah Fawaz from Beirut, Bahaa Fadl Ahmed Al-Haj from Al-Ghobeiry, Firas Asaad Kanj from Tayouneh, Ali Ahmed Rabah from the southern suburbs.
What is striking about this decision is the inappropriate way of communicating with lawyers when they call each of them “invited” as if they are nobody. This is a method that does not rise to the level of communication with lawyers who are respected within the Palaces of Justice and the Bar Association.
In the opinion of observers, this decision represented an attempt to suppress freedom of opinion within the movement of the deprived, which was founded by Imam al-Sadr to raise the voice of the oppressed from tyranny over people’s necks.
