A share of the Mpox vaccine maker gets a new boost

The share of Bavarian Nordic, a Danish pharmaceutical company that has a vaccine against MPox, rose 13 percent on Thursday morning.

Bavarian Nordic released new figures on Thursday. It has now received enough orders from governments to meet previously set conversion projections. On Wednesday, the pharmaceutical company received another order from a European country for 440,000 doses of the vaccine.

The Bavarian vaccine is the only one against MPox that has been approved by American and European regulators.

The World Health Organization recently declared the MPox outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo an international emergency. A new variant of the disease, which has been circulating for decades, appears to be more contagious and more pathogenic.

Bavarian Nordic’s share has risen by more than 55 percent this year.
