Young Mother Killed in Colombian Motorcycle Crash
A tragic motorcycle accident in the vibrant city of Valledupar, Colombia, has claimed the life of 22-year-old Gianella Michell Ríos Baute.
Ríos Baute was traveling on a motorcycle – license plate HKG-09H – when it collided with a Toyota Fortuner truck on December 12, 2024, in the Novailito area of the city. "The stop sign was left by the driver and she collided with the truck," stated municipal traffic units who responded to the scene. The impact caused Ríos Baute to be ejected from her motorcycle, resulting in severe head injuries that proved fatal.
The driver of the truck remained unharmed at the scene and is cooperating with authorities.
The accident has left a deep void in the lives of Ríos Baute’s heartbroken family. As the eldest of five siblings and the mother of a four-year-old daughter, her loss is deeply felt.
At the time of the accident, Ríos Baute was returning to her job at a service station in Valledupar after completing some medical examinations required by her employer.
Following the tragedy, municipal traffic units conducted a thorough examination of the scene. Ríos Baute’s body was taken to a funeral home and subsequently transported to Legal Medicine for an autopsy.
