Lundgren addressed his fans on Facebook, writing: “I would like to give you an update. Unfortunately, I had to have my left foot amputated ten days ago.” He also posts a photo of himself in the hospital bed. Only Lundgren’s legs can be seen. The right leg shows a lot of skin, while the left leg has a thick bandage. The foot on the left leg is missing.

The reason for the amputation is an injury from September. Just last month the Swede broke his ankle. In mid-September he explained: “I broke my foot last week. And I’m going to be in the hospital for a long time.”
However, the fracture alone did not cause the foot to be lost. Lundgren: “Due to the infection I had and my broken ankle, which is not healing due to my type 2 diabetes, the circulation is poor. But now I’m fine again and my rehab will start soon.”

Lundgren was signed by Federer in 2000. Under the Swede, Federer won seven tournaments in 2003, including the tennis classic Wimbledon. It also made it to second place in the world rankings. The separation followed at the end of 2003. Lundgren said about the end in 2020: “I traveled with him for four years, there were trainings and tournaments all over the world.
