We have understood what it means to be together, how important it is to talk and understand each other. “Piano stories are a series of concerts for a very small audience. Silenced, calm, emotional. It will be an opportunity to get close to each other, listening to people’s stories, songs and compositions and getting to know each other again,” say the organizers of the concert series. .
Pianist Kristaps Vanadziņš will perform on the piano program on March 31, singer Daumants Kalniņš on April 12, musician and composer Juris Kaukulis on April 21, rap music representative and singer Zelma Jēgere on April 23, singer, songwriter and music groups Ewert and The Two Dragons soloist Everts Sundja (Ewert Sundja)as well as the pianist and instrumental groups on May 10 Dagamba participant Dainis Tenis. The concerts will feature new compositions created during the pandemic, as well as listeners’ favorite music in new sounds.
In the piano story with pianist Kristaps Vanadziņš, there will be an opportunity to hear a solo program Portraits. In the concert, listeners will be able to enjoy deeply personal compositions and sketches, where Kristaps tries to reveal and draw himself and his portrait. There will be an opportunity to travel to different areas and events of the world. In the story with Daumants Kalniņš, there will be an opportunity to hear piano stories for voice.
Juris Kaukulis will perform well-known and lesser-known compositions, including from various ones Iron wolf stages of creativity, songs from theatrical performances in their original sound, close to what they are born for the first time alone, when only the guitar and voice are at hand, as well as new songs. In the piano story with Zelma Jäger, the artist’s favorite songs will be performed together with guitarist Arturs Liedis and pianist Edgars Cīrulis. Stories and music embody a journey through the tranquility and reunion power of a pandemic.
The exclusive solo program will be heard in a story performed by an Estonian singer and songwriter, as well as acclaimed and popular groups in Latvia. Ewert and The Two Dragons soloist Everts Sundja. The concert will feature unheard of music, cover versions, Ewert and The Two Dragons classics and songs that Everts has written for other artists. It will be Everts and the piano, and nothing else.
Pianist Dainis Tenis will share the closing story of the program, where he will have the opportunity to hear the new solo program Decoder. In the concert, Dainis Tenis will perform his original works for piano, in which he has combined the closest genres of music – neoclassical, ambient and electronic music. The world-famous piano builder Dāvids Kļaviņa will create a special mood A rope. The sound of the analog synthesizers and the rhythms of the drum machine will complement the acoustic environment with unique timbres.
