VIVA – Some people believe that the Earth is not round. They claim that the only planet that can be inhabited by humans is flat with all their theories. But, what if the Earth was completely flat? Citing site Live Science, Monday, July 26 2021, five possibilities will occur if the form The earth is flat:
No gravity
If the Earth was flat, it would have no gravity at all. Because the Earth, which is shaped like a solid disk, would not be possible under true gravity, according to calculations in the 1850s by mathematician and physicist James Clerk Maxwell.
Gravity will pull everything towards the center of the disk, the North Pole. In that scenario, the further away you are from the North Pole, the more horizontal the gravitational pull toward the center of the disk, according to James Davis, a geophysicist at Columbia University’s Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory. If the Earth was flat it would wreak havoc around the world.
No atmosphere
Without gravity, Earth would no longer be able to hold on to the layer of gas called the atmosphere. The force of gravity is what holds the atmosphere around the Earth. Without this protective blanket, the Earth’s sky will turn black because the light emitted from the Sun will no longer spread when it enters Earth’s atmosphere.
The loss of atmospheric pressure will expose plants and animals to a vacuum that causes shortness of breath in seconds, according to Luis Villazon, a zoologist and educator.
