On the video service “KinoPoisk” a series will be released about one of the most famous and significant Russian rock groups “The King and the Jester” and its deceased frontman Mikhail Gorshenev. The picture will tell about the formation of the collective, its thorny path to success and the uneasy relationship of the musicians.
The producers of the project are vocalist and lyricist of the group Andrei Knyazev, as well as Igor Gudkov, who shot three cult concert films “KiSha” – “Skomorokh Holiday”, “Men were eating meat” and “On the edge”. Screenwriter – Dmitry Lemeshev (“Okolofutbola”, “Contact”), director – Rustam Mosafir (“Skif”, “Hussar”).
“In my opinion, in the history of Russian rock music after Tsoi, there is no brighter group than King and Jester. Their career is full of events and interesting stories, without which it is impossible to make a good movie, ”says Igor Gudkov.
“I have been thinking about this for a long time, I know that the Pot dreamed of a film about the King and the Fool group. This is a very difficult task and the creative team that has now formed instills confidence that everything should turn out as cool as possible, ”added Andrey Knyazev.
The widow, mother and brother of Mikhail Gorshenev gave their consent to the project. Casting is currently underway. The release of the series is scheduled for 2022.
