A 71-year-old man lost his life late Saturday afternoon on the military road of Lécherette (VD). This Italian national living in the region lost control of his vehicle, probably due to illness.
The car crossed the roadway and rolled over the grass strip bordering the road, leaning on the guardrail for approximately 50 meters before re-crossing the roadway to the right. The vehicle then left the road and ended its path in a grassy slope below, against a tree, said the Vaud cantonal police on Sunday.
The driver, the only one involved, died on the spot, despite the intervention of Rega and medical staff. The investigation should determine the exact reasons for his loss of control.
