Barça has finished the first official month of competition, with a perfect four out of four in the League. The month of August is already over, and a new season is beginning September as demanding as it is exciting. In a month of 30 days, all of the Blaugrana’s activity will be concentrated in 14 days. Two weeks in which Hansi Flick’s men will compete four league games and one Champions League gameand only one of them as a local.
Girona – Barça: a Champions League derby
With the international break, the first test for the Blaugrana will be on the 15th, when they visit a Champions League team such as Girona. Starting at 16.15, the Montilivi stadium will welcome the leader, in a duel with an air of revenge for the culers, who lost both of their matches last season against the Girona team.
Monaco – Barça: the European debut
After visiting Girona, Barça will travel to Monaco for their debut in the new Champions League 24/25, scheduled for Thursday 19th, starting at 9:00 p.m. at the Luis II Stadium. It will be against a familiar opponent, as Monaco won the Joan Gamper Trophy last year and Barça will be looking to take the first three European points of the season from the Principality.
Villarreal – Barça: third away game in a week
Three days later, another very difficult trip, this time at the Estadio de la Cerámica, Villarreal’s home. A much reinforced Yellow Submarine, without European competition this season and who are positioned as one of the favourites to take fourth place in the Champions League at the end of the season, with a much deeper squad that will come together as the weeks go by.
Barça – Getafe: only match at Montjuïc
After visiting Villarreal, the first – and only – home game of the entire month will finally arrive. In a midweek match of the League, Getafe will visit the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, in the third game at Montjuïc of the entire season, which so far has seen victories against Athletic Club and Real Valladolid.
Osasuna – Barça: the end of two weeks without a break
And the September matches will end in Pamplona, to face Osasuna. It will be the first time that Barça plays against a team that has changed coach this summer, with the arrival of Vicente Moreno to the Navarrese bench after the departure of Jagoba Arrasate. And so will end a September full of many trips, five games in two weeks, but with one of the most special days, the debut in the Champions League.
