See when we switch to daylight saving time
By the end of March, spring will be more and more noticeable with daytime temperatures that will more often be around and above 20 degrees. The period in the Balkans is characterized by changeable weather with invasions of cold air from the Northwest and short-term precipitation.
March 20 will start with sunny weather in the western and central regions. In the east and here and there along the Danube there will be reduced visibility. Meanwhile, on Monday, it will quickly become cloudy from the west, but there will be no precipitation during the day. Almost calm weather with positive temperatures at dawn and daytime values between 15 and 20-21 degrees.
As a result of a passing Mediterranean cyclone, Tuesday and Wednesday will be mostly cloudy with rain starting late Tuesday afternoon and quickly covering most of the country. Isolated thunderstorms are possible. Daytime temperatures will drop by 2-3 degrees. On Thursday and Friday it will be sunny with scattered clouds. Daytime temperatures will rise again and will be around 20 degrees in almost the entire country, and in places up to 25.
During the weekends (March 25 and 26), a cold atmospheric front will pass over the country. A strong northwesterly wind is expected. Precipitation will begin from the northwest late Saturday afternoon and evening. They will be local, short-lived, temporarily intense with thunder and with a risk of small hail.
Another such front with strong gusts of wind will affect our country in the first days of the last week of March. Then the temperatures will significantly drop – for a day or two in the morning they will again be around zero, and during the day between 5 and 10 degrees. During this period, snow will fall on the mountains, and it is possible that this will also happen in some high valleys in Western Bulgaria and here and there in the Pre-Balkans.
Astronomical spring begins on March 20 at 11:24 p.m. On the night of March 25-26, we will have to move the hands of the clocks forward an hour and switch to summer time.
