At a time when everything in Latvia is flourishing in full swing, the collection of Latvian poetry “Smarša” has been published. This selection with the old name is dedicated to the invisible dimension – smell, informed the publishing house “Aminori”. The preface of the collection says: “Perfume has surrounded us since we were born. Smells like breast milk, the first book, the first love. ”
This selection of poetry can be seen as a continuation of the crisis poetry collection “Comfort”, which was released last year. “These two poetry collections complement each other well,” said Marika Rozenberg, also known as a perfumery enthusiast.
“The scent has a healing power and is able to provide comfort even during crises of the soul.”
The poetry collection “Smarša” combines works by Latvian poetry classics – Rainis, Aspazija, Edvarts Virza, Erika Ādamsons, Aleksandrs Čaks, Austras Skujiņa – and other authors.
Illustrations for the publication have been created by artist Baiba Baiba, the designer of the book is Anna Aizsilniece. Readers also expect a surprise, which was taken care of by Lithuanian perfumer Aistis Mickevičs from the perfume studio “FumparFum Vilnius”.
