A secret tape showed where the cabinet talks are going

A secret recording of a meeting of the parliamentary group of “Democratic Bulgaria”, held in the building of the National Assembly, shows how the negotiations for forming the government are developing. The MPs from DB gathered in the “Zapad” hall after a meeting of the parliamentary committee on Gemcorp. The commission failed, and after it the microphones and cameras were not turned off. The recording continued at the party meeting. The broadcast of the meeting was found out from the Facebook statuses of GERB deputies. DB have confirmed that this record is authentic.

At the meeting, Hristo Ivanov expressed his dissatisfaction with the fact that BSP leader Kornelia Ninova did not want to propose a new management formula because she was satisfied with her previous positions. She could have, but did not want to, ask for other ITN negotiators, a clear declaration that the current ITN ministers would not be offered, and could even have insisted that ITN not participate with ministers in the new cabinet.

According to Hristo Ivanov, next week the negotiations may come to a “short circuit” and it is likely to go to elections on October 16. DB will continue to publicly speak their main points – that this is a technical mandate, that they are only listening and will have a position when it becomes clear who will be proposed for prime minister. DB insisted that the future Prime Minister should have a greater opportunity to choose a team, and not to be appointed along party lines. However, Ninova did not want to.
