Mohamad al Alami drove in a car with his father in the town of Beit Omar, northwest of Hebron, when he was hit by a bullet fired by Israeli soldiers.
“We are investigating allegations that a minor Palestinian has been killed in the shooting,” the Israeli army said in a statement.
“The incident is being investigated by senior commanders. In addition, the military police have begun an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.”
Alami is the second young Palestinian to die in the fire of the Israeli army in the West Bank in recent days.
Munir at Tamimi, a 17-year-old Palestinian, was shot dead on Saturday during a protest in the village of Beita in the West Bank, where Palestinians protested against the expansion of Jewish colonial settlements.
320 Palestinians were injured in clashes with the Israeli army, the Red Crescent said.
