Magadan’s Department of Education faced a complaint from one of the city’s residents about teaching Nikolai Nekrasov’s works in schools.
At the end of the 2021-2022 academic year, the department received a complaint from the mother of a student in one of the schools that her son had been forced to “learn nonsense” about “ragged peasants”. It turned out that schoolchildren were asked to memorize a passage from the textbook of Nekrasov’s program “Peasant Children”, known as “Peasant-with-nail”:
“Once upon a time in the cold winter,
I came out of the forest; there was a severe frost.
I look, it slowly climbs uphill
Horse carrying firewood.
And, most importantly, to march in serenity.
A man leads a horse by the bridle
With big boots, with a sheepskin coat,
In big gloves … and himself with a fingernail!
According to the teachers in Magadan, in recent years the number of complaints from parents to the department about anything has started to grow and “very distract from the main thing: the education and upbringing of children”.
“For example, a mother recently accused me of raising money from my parents to pay for the services of a cleaning company to clean the classroom. And also that I’ve already bought a ton of writing paper with my parents’ money. None of this, of course, was in sight, the class was washed by a full-time cleaning lady and we, as in all other classes, collected money, but for completely different needs. However, both the school administration and I had to unsubscribe on a complaint in all instances, ”a primary school teacher who introduced herself as Anna Nikolaevna told the Magadan edition of Very.
The school administration is also happy to resort to complaints against parents to the supervisory authorities. On September 1, the media reported that the director of the Moscow school No. 1797 went to the police with a request to check a group of students and their parents who would prepare an “unauthorized action” online on September 1 in support of the fired coach of the school football team.
