“I was very happy to be called up for an award, but learning there that I had won the first prize was the icing on the cake! This is what Manek Hery, a 4th grade student in the private establishment, confided.
Students had to record a video after choosing a text in verse or prose imposed by the jury. Manek was the most successful in the Spanish category in cycle 4 (combining the classes of 5th, 4th, 3rd).
The student had chosen a text in verse and had been able to rehearse with his parents and his teacher Mar Moreno.

On her own initiative, the native Andalusian teacher had registered five volunteers from the bilingual section who had been practicing Spanish since the 6th grade. With natural enthusiasm, the teacher hoped to be able to exercise her students orally and declared herself “very moved” when the results were published. A joy that students and colleagues could observe. “She was even happier than us,” described the winner.
International participants
In addition to the first place obtained by Manek among 100 candidates, the 3rd prize equally was awarded to his comrade Adèle Rousseau. The prizes were awarded at the Château de Chambord during a ceremony presided over by the academic rector Katia Béguin.
The two 14-year-old students made their teacher happy, who did not pretend to be happy. “It’s recognition of the work done by the teacher” recognized Delphine Delarson, deputy director of the college.

“We didn’t have to learn the text by heart” but Manek did. An additional pride for the teaching team as candidates from 14 non-academy departments and 8 other teenagers from other countries participated. The student received a book and a card holder and will receive his diploma by post.
