A Saudi young man’s heroic act of saving 5 patients after being declared brain dead, featured in a video

Al-Marsad Newspaper: A member of the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation, Dr. Khaled Al-Rouqi, revealed the story of a young Saudi man who saved 5 patients after his brain death.

He said during an interview with Al Arabiya channel, the story began with a 33-year-old man entering the National Guard Hospital in Riyadh, and doctors tried to save his life and treat him, but he died of a brain.

And he continued: We received a notification from the organ donation unit in the hospital that they had a suspected case of brain death, so we followed up, and brain death was diagnosed.

He added: We sat with the father, mother, and brother of the young man, who was brain dead, and obtained approval from them to donate organs.

It is noteworthy that the organs donated by the brain-dead young man before his death are: “kidneys, liver, lung and heart.”
