The Saint-Nicolas parade in Nancy will take place this Saturday, November 4, but in a particular format. As is the case since the rise in the level of the Vigipirate plan, the procession is picked up from Place Carnot to Place Stanislas through the old town, but it is above all the health context that forces us to adapt. The mayor of Nancy Mathieu Klein announced this Friday, December 3 the cancellation of the distribution of sweets and the obligation to wear a mask. The tanks will still be able to parade.
Concretely, wearing a mask will be compulsory for all visitors over eleven years old, and recommended from 6 years old on the assumption that these children are already wearing it at school. But above all, to avoid regular mask withdrawals and candy transmissions, the distribution of sweets is canceled. Four tons were to be distributed on the course. Donations will be made via schools in the Metropolitan area, said Mathieu Klein.
The risk is under control “- Mathieu Klein
Arrangements dictated by the health situation. The incidence rate of Covid-19 is 321 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in Meurthe-et-Moselle. The rise was sudden even if the number of patients in intensive care at the Nancy CHRU remains moderate. There are currently 17 patients, which does not oblige to reorganize the services, explains Christian Rabaud, the president of the medical commission of establishment of the CHRU of Nancy. Maintaining the parade with these rules helps limit the risks according to Mathieu Klein: “as soon as we are outside, the mask is worn, there is no incentive to remove it, the risk is controlled.”
