MOSCOW (Sputnik) – A ski resort in the Russian Far North city of Norilsk has been engulfed by snow after an avalanche, the Russian Emergency Ministry said.

“It was reported that in the area of the Gora Otdelnaya ski resort there was a decrease in the mass of snow. As a result, five houses were buried, it is being specified how many people are inside.”
Some 200 people and 18 teams from the search and rescue forces of the regional department of the Ministry of Emergencies were sent to the scene.
According to the latest data from the ministry, in one of the houses could be a family of four, other buildings are empty.
