Russian multimillionaire and MP Pavel Antov has died after falling from the window of his room in a luxury hotel in India. There he celebrated his 66th birthday, reports the newspaper “Daily Mail”, quoted by NOVA.
The businessman is the owner of the “Vladimirsky Standard” meat processing company and became known for his criticism of Vladimir Putin regarding the war in Ukraine.
In June, he described Russian airstrikes on Kiev as “terrorism” harming Ukraine’s civilian population.
According to Indian media, Antov, known as the “richest sitting MP” of the ruling United Russia party, jumped from the roof of the three-star Sai International Hotel in Riyagada.
He was immediately taken to the hospital, where he died of his serious injuries.
Police are working on several theories, including suicide.
According to Antov’s relatives, he was depressed over the death of his close friend, who died of a heart attack last week.
