“The commander of the Russian airborne troops, Mikhail Teplitsky, was fired,” wrote gazeta.ua.
“The reason for the general’s removal is that he severely insulted the new commander of Moscow’s forces in Ukraine, Valery Gerasimov,” added the cited media, citing posts in closed groups on Russian social networks.
“Teplitsky made obscene remarks against the Chief of the General Staff and his relatives because of his “brilliant” idea that the Russian armed forces immediately launch a massive offensive operation in Ukraine with the participation of numerous divisions of the airborne troops,” the publication also pointed out.
“Lieutenant General Oleg Makarevich has been appointed to replace Teplitsky, who assumed command of the elite troops in June 2022,” added gazeta.ua.
According to the publication, dissatisfaction has begun in the Russian military landing forces because their soldiers and officers have given many victims during the 11 months of war in Ukraine. “It will come to the surface sooner or later, and the Kremlin probably won’t be able to deal with it,” the media suggested.
