A Romanian brought to the country the most expensive breed of beef in the world

Those who love to eat meat have definitely heard of Wagyu beef. Produced especially in Japan and appreciated for its rich taste, it can cost as much as 400 dollars for a kilo.

A Romanian from Timiș decided to bring to the country the most expensive breed of beef in the world, and now he is selling the meat at the highest price on the market. A single animal it can cost $30,000.

The entrepreneur’s name is Raimond Rusu and he grows the most expensive breed of cows in the world on his farm in Becicherecu Mic, Timiş County.

“We took several breeds of cows. And Angus, and puddled on the meat line, and from Wagyu we tried embryonating in Germany and brought pregnant cows from which we obtained these Wagyu calves”, said Raimond Rusu.

“I didn’t believe it until I tried it”

Currently, there are no more than 400 copies in Romania, but the sector is in full development. More than 100 such cows are already growing in the Timiş farm alone.

“At the present time we have around 60 or maybe 60 calving cows, we have a bull authorized for breeding, three more authorized bulls that we rotate through breeding. All mounts are natural. We have around 30 cows on the farm and 25-30 bulls”, explained Raimond Rusu.

The difference between the luxury breed and the other cattle known on the Romanian market is the marbled and extremely delicate meat. This refined meat has a light texture and a rich sweet aroma, and the fat has a high content of unsaturated fatty acids, which enhance the aroma, writes Antena 3.

“In 2017, I went to Germany for the first time to see this animal live, and the breeder there also had a small slaughterhouse and presented me with a vacuumed product, and initially when I looked, I thought it was salami. I bought it, went home, prepared it and then said that something like this is rare. I didn’t believe it until I tried it,” added Raimond Rusu.
