Biotechnology company “Roche” has announced the creation of Roche Services & Solutions (RSS) EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa region) satellite location in Riga, company representatives inform.

It will be a complementary company to the existing pharmaceutical and diagnostic related branches. It is planned that in the next 4-5 years it will employ 200 highly qualified specialists in areas such as digital marketing, regulatory services, Agile coaching, project management, as well as finance.
Roche Services & Solutions is Roche’s global business services organization with headquarters in Budapest (Hungary), San Jose (Costa Rica) and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), offering customer-centric solutions to its Roche partners in more than 150 countries. The Riga office will be part of the EMEA organization of “Roche Services & Solutions”.
The reason for the creation of the new location in Riga is the high demand for talents in various fields of expertise. Riga was chosen to complement Roche’s existing team in Budapest and to gain access to Latvia’s highly qualified talents, the company explains.

We will start recruiting in the second quarter of 2023 and aim to employ 200 employees over the next 4-5 years. ” explains Martin Kikstein, Head of Roche Services & Solutions (RSS) EMEA. “We aim to attract talent in areas such as digital marketing, regulatory services, Agile coaching, project management, as well as finance.”
After careful evaluation of several potential locations, Riga was chosen because of its infrastructure and university standards.
“Global business services are currently gaining momentum in the city. This means that there are still many unused talents here, as well as many opportunities for the industry to grow. There is excellent cooperation between the city of Riga and “Roche”. The Riga Investment and Tourism Agency has been cooperating with “Roche” since , when the company first showed interest in operating in Latvia”, says Riga Mayor Mārtiņš Staķis.
The first “Roche” office in Latvia was established in 1925. “Roche” was forced to leave the country in 1940, but later resumed its activities and established its representative office in Riga in 1997.
Recently, “Roche” invested and renovated a historical office building in Riga, Miera Street 25.
