His six co-suspects arrested, three from France and two from Belgium, are known to be between 24 and 40 years old. The police cannot yet determine the identity and age of one suspect. Two of the suspects were injured on the run, one mildly, the other more serious, but he too will survive.
All suspects must remain in jail, the investigating judge decided on Saturday. The police are looking for at least three more suspects.
Four suspects were arrested in Broek in Waterland, after their flight in which automatic weapons were fired at the police. A fifth suspect was arrested in Diemen. The sixth has been stopped on the A20 near Rotterdam-Kralingen.
As usual, the National Police investigates whether the use of firearms by the officers was lawful.
The Public Prosecution Service does not want to provide any further information, because all suspects are ‘in restrictions’ and are only allowed to have contact with their lawyers.
