A rise of color in the Hauts Bassins: the governor’s civics course for Science students

The ceremony to raise the national colors in the Hauts-Bassins took place on Wednesday October 2, 2024 at the building of the school Le Savoir located in the 22 department of Bobo. It is part of the second phase of the National Days of Indigenous Engagement and Citizen Engagement.

The time for patriotism has come in Burkina Faso. It is in this movement that the country’s authorities launched the first phase of National Days of Indigenous Commitment and Citizen Participation from October 2 to 15, 2023. These Days must now be held from October 2 to 15 every year. During these days, color raising ceremonies are organized to further strengthen the love fiber. And this year in the Hauts-Bassins region, the Le Savoir school building is the choice to host this event. According to Mariama Konaté/Gnanou, governor of the region, “holding this ceremony in an educational environment right here in this temple of knowledge, aims to encourage all private institutions that work hard together with the government in the education and training of Burkinabè of tomorrow”.
Commitment to work
Before delivering her speech, the governor read the message from the President of Faso during the National Days of Indigenous Pledge. In her speech, Mariama Konaté / Gnanou invited everyone to work, stating this: “I especially urge you to work, to be workers. For your students, work means learning your lessons well! Work means being disciplined at school! Work means being punctual and attending classes regularly! Work means avoiding being late for school! Work means being better and even excellent during the school year. Make sure you are proud and honorable Burkinabè, able to carry the torch of our homeland still very high. ” At the end of her remarks, she invited people to be more content and loving and not to betray their country.
As part of these National Days of Native Commitment, the governor gave a civic and moral education course especially on the country’s symbols to students in the Le Savoir school building. The aim is to inculcate the values ​​of citizenship in children so that they become true patriots.
There are several activities on the program
In addition to this color raising ceremony, several other activities are included in the program of these Days which will be held from October 2 to 15. These include, among other things others, public conferences, sanitation activities, sports activities, and civic awareness sessions. To this end, the governor invited all the population to take ownership of these different activities so that this second level of patriotic enthusiasm and citizen participation will be successful in the Hauts-Bassins as the first one.
The founder of the Le Savoir School Center, Aboubacar Koita, was very happy with the choice that was made to hold this colorful event. He congratulated the groups and said he was committed to promoting the values ​​of citizenship within his institution.
