In Chaumont, everyone is mobilizing for the Telethon. Music, dance, sport, creative workshops and gastronomy are on the program from Friday 29 to Sunday 1 December.
The weekend of November 29 and 30 will be a strong moment of solidarity and generosity in Chaumont, with the Coordination Telethon de la Haute-Marne, in partnership with the City, which is organizing a series of events to support research against rare diseases. Music, dance, sport, creative workshops, gastronomy… There will be something for everyone, young and old. The objective is to raise funds for research, while having a friendly and supportive time.
Friday, November 29, the official launch of Telethon 2024 will take place at 6:15 p.m. at Chaumont Town Hall. “The evening will open with a moving performance by the elected officials’ choir, made up of more than 20 amateur singers – local elected officials, volunteers and members of the Téléthon Haute-Marne coordination. A first highlight to recall the importance of solidarity in the face of rare diseases. The choir will be followed by the Trimazos vocal ensemble, bringing an additional musical touch to this evening of gathering and mobilization,” explains Olivier Chantier, departmental coordinator and elected official in Chaumont.
The village hall, a place for meetings and solidarity
Saturday November 30, the village hall will be transformed into a place of meetings and solidarity. The day will be punctuated by various activities, accessible to all. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., creative sports workshops are on the program with the Rythme et Danse and Jing Tao associations, but also with Les Graphistes Affichés and their “creation of pins and tote-bags” activities.
From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., dance shows will be offered, with the MJC de Chaumont and Jing Tao. At the same time, sports activities will be planned. For example, Ufolep will organize a one-on-one football tournament, for team sports enthusiasts or those who wish to challenge their friends in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. First aid workshops will also be led by health professionals, in order to raise public awareness of the importance of lifesaving actions.
The CFA de Chaumont will take part in the event by offering a wardrobe clearance. This solidarity market will allow everyone to do good business while supporting the cause. The refreshment bar run by CFA students and teachers will donate all of its profits to the Telethon. Finally, Chaumont Ludik will offer a series of games and challenges to entertain children and families, with a fun, but always engaged, approach.
Other events not to be missed
Other sites are mobilized for the Telethon. The Lions Club are organizing their traditional chef’s soup sale at the covered market (Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.). The Chaumontais Orcas have planned a sporting challenge in Palestra. From 9 a.m., the L’osier pourpre nursing home organizes a Christmas market and shows.
From Monday, November 25 to Friday, November 29, residents can “give weight to research” by dropping off small electrical and waste items at the reception of the Departmental Energy and Waste Union (SDED 52), avenue Foch in Chaumont. electronics out of order. For each kilo collected, SDED 52 undertakes to donate €1.50 to the Telethon. An introduction to Breton dance is offered by the Viaduc CEC association, Sunday December 1st from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the association house.
