A return of Milik is still possible

During the mid-season press conference, OM president Pablo Longoria returned to the first part of the season. He particularly mentioned the departure of Arkadiusz Milik on loan to Juventus Turin. The Turin club has the possibility of exercising the purchase option, but a return of the Pole to OM is not excluded.

Pablo Longoria returned to more topics during the mid-season press conference on Tuesday and mentioned Arkadiusz Milik’s loan to Juventus Turin. The Polish international has returned to scoring in Serie A and it seems Milik hasn’t adapted to the game offered by Igor Tudor. If Juventus Turin has the possibility to exercise the purchase option, Pablo Longoria says that a return of the Pole cannot be ruled out.

“Milik can come back in the future”

“We believe Arkadiusz’s departure is a reflection that everyone needs to ask in modern football. Do you prefer to have a high-level player or an adaptable player in your squad? If you have both, it’s magical. It is believed that Milik is a player of the highest level, one of the best European goalscorers, but that he is not suitable for the style of play we want to develop. This is our feeling, maybe we’re wrong. But we had to make a decision, what to do on the market with one of the highest salaries in the squad but which is not the most adaptable. For me, the highest paid player on the team has to be the most important on the team. We have found solutions. Juve has always been interested. We found a good loan. Putting a player in an excellent club, a team of Champions League level and who will fight for the title in Italy, this gives him value. It would have been easier to send him to a lower club to protect us and say he didn’t have OM level. He is doing very well with Juve, we are very happy for him. Juve have an option to buy the player, but maybe he can come back in the future.”

We’ll have to wait until the end of the season to find out. However, Milik seems to like Serie A.
