A retiree clears the cars of the employees of the Saint-Jérôme hospital

It is not because Christmas is behind us that we can no longer give to the next. A 65-year-old retiree understood this well, taking advantage of the snowfall of the last few hours to thank the staff of the Saint-Jérôme hospital in his own way.

After a grueling first day on Saturday, Donald Hargray was back in the parking lot of the employees of the Saint-Jérôme hospital with all his equipment from 6:30 a.m. on Sunday. His mission? Clear snow as many vehicles as possible to thank healthcare workers for their sacrifices in these difficult times.

“I was really pissed off last night and I didn’t think I had the courage to come this morning, but finally, after the words of encouragement and gratitude I had on Facebook, I thought to myself: ‘crime, he have to go give it another shot! “” launched the Good Samaritan at the microphone of TVA Nouvelles.

The 65-year-old retiree had cleared more than 200 vehicles by mid-afternoon Sunday. A task started the day before which earned him all kinds of thanks from the employees, such as tips or gift cards.

“I don’t accept them because that’s not the point at all,” he said. What makes me happy is when they say thank you with a little smile. ”

He now encourages everyone like him who is in good shape and has some spare time to find a way to thank the health workers.

“You never know, it may be to them that we will leave the care of treating us”, he recalled.
