According to the vice president, the visit should testify to “the desire of the United States to strengthen relations with the United Arab Emirates.”
A visit to Abu Dhabi with new UAE President Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who was unanimously elected on Saturday, is scheduled for the US visit.
At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a message congratulating Mohamed Al Nahyan on his election as President of the UAE.
“I am confident that your leadership will further strengthen our friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation. I look forward to continuing our constructive dialogue and our joint work on international affairs,” the statement said. Mohamed Al Nahyan recently visited Moscow.
