A residential building burned down in Vanagai village in Agluonėnai ward on Thursday. Firefighters could no longer save him, as they found him engulfed in flames.
On Thursday around noon, a house caught fire in Vanagai was noticed by a neighbor – the owners were not there. Firefighters who arrived could not do anything because they found the building on fire. The residential building collapsed with all the property in it. It is believed that the fire broke out due to a fault in the electrical installation or because of the furnace.
This year, 42 fires were registered in Gargžda PGT, one third of them in residential buildings. This is significantly less than last year in the same period.
