Mortality after the use of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine in six European countries is significantly higher than after the AstraZeneca vaccine, a report shows.
The Moscow office of vaccine manufacturer Sputnik confirmed the authenticity of the document.
“AstraZeneca confirms that it is the author of the document. This information was not intended for public publication,” a company spokesman said.
The 12-page report, entitled “Restoring Confidence in COVID-19 Vaccines and Improved Cooperation between Regulators, Health Agencies and Pharmaceutical Companies – A Call to Action”, provides statistics showing that the total number of deaths per million administered doses of the vaccine in France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Norway, Austria and Italy is almost three times higher for Pfizer than for AstraZeneca.
According to statistics provided by governments and related medical agencies, France registered 45.3 deaths per million doses for Pfizer against 17.9 for AstraZeneca.
For Germany the figures are 29.9 against 6.5, for Great Britain – 20.7 and 24.2, Norway – 164.3 and 44.6, Austria – 47.5 and 7.5, and Italy – 10.9 against 7.3.
At the same time, the UK gives priority to the use of AstraZeneca for its mass vaccination campaign, and the drug is essential for several categories of people. As of May 26, 72.9% of the adult population in the country had been vaccinated with one dose of the vaccine, 44.8% with both.
Contrary to European countries’ statements about the risks of the AstraZeneca vaccine and the refusal to use the drug, the company’s statistics show that the risk for those vaccinated with Pfizer is higher.
The company stressed that it is not the only one that suffers from bad advertising. The accusations against his vaccine affect the reliability of vaccines from other manufacturers and therefore reduce people’s desire to be vaccinated.
