As long as we can remember, SAS Scandinavian Airlines has always had a presence in New York. Only since 1990 the company had stopped serving New York Kennedy for focus its offering on Newark. The second international airport of the metropolis is in fact an important hub for United Airlines, an important American partner of SAS under the Star Alliance.
It is therefore a return with great pomp for the Scandinavian company, which will launch flights from Copenhagen from 9 February 2023.
With the launch of its new route to New York’s JFK, SAS will offer customers frequent departures from this convenient and efficient airport, with easy access to and from New York, as well as numerous connecting flights to choose from.
JFK service will begin with five weekly flights from Copenhagen, before reaching cruising speed for the daily summer schedule. SAS will operate at terminal 7 of JFK. The airline will also continue to operate its daily flights to Newark from Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm Arlanda.

SAS offers a strong product to Newark Airport from Scandinavia and we believe the addition of JFK from Copenhagen will strengthen New York’s offering for our customers. The United States is a strategic market for SAS, e we will continue to develop new routes and destinations whenever the opportunity presents itself,” he said Erik Westman, EVP and CCO, Network and Revenue Management.
Indeed, SAS Scandinavian Airlines is experiencing sustained demand for the United States. The company thus offers 130 weekly departures for a total of 12 connections. for the 2022/2023 winter season.
