The Palencia Provincial Council will begin construction this spring of the new Saldaña Fire Department regional park, work that will be added to the construction of the Aguilar Fire Department, whose project was presented and which will also start before this summer.
The work will be carried out by the company Proviser Ibrca, SLU, the awardee of the works, with an award amount of 1.9 million euros and an execution period of 18 months.
With the construction of this new building, it is intended to carry out the implementation of a fire station classified as type 2, according to the Sectoral Plan of the Services of Prevention, Extinguishing of Fires and Rescue of Castilla y León.
The characteristics of type 2 fire stations are as follows: 24 in-person, a 5-minute exit time, at least three interveners per shift, one fire engine vehicle, at least another that will vary depending on the particularities of the intervention area, rescue equipment in traffic accidents and specific material.
The new park will cover the 5,500 inhabitants of the municipalities of Ayuela, Buenavista de Valdavia, Bustillo de la Vega, Lagartos, Ledigos, Loma de Ucieza, Nogal de las Huertas, Pedrosa de la Vega, Pino del Río, Poza de la Vega , Puebla de Valdavia, Quintanilla de Onsoa, Renedo de la Vega, Saldaa, Santervs de la Vega, La Serna, Tabanera de Valdavia, Valderrbano, Villabasta de Valdavia, Villaluenga de la Vega, Villamoronta, Villarrab, Villaturde and Villota del Pramo.
In order to carry out the 24-hour on-site service, the new park will have an office, control area, gym, equipment storage, attack changing room, men’s and women’s changing rooms, living room, kitchen, bedrooms, training room, hangar and installation rooms.
As for the design of the building, which will have an area of 1,224 square meters, it is planned under a compact model, similar to the industrial buildings that surround it, although its volume will be distinguished by the presence of the maneuvering towers.
