A miniature version of an X-wing starfighter used as a prop in a “Star Wars” film fetched a record sum at a collectibles auction over the weekend.

The 20-inch X-wing starfighter model was originally used for the original 1977 “Star Wars” film, which was released here in 1977 war of stars and after expanding the franchise now Episode IV: A New Hope is called. The model had been missing for decades. Loud Heritage Auctions The model was therefore long considered the “lost X-Wing”. Gene Kozicki, a visual effects historian and a friend of Jein, as well as other friends of the artist told the newspaper that they did not know how Jein came into possession of the X-Wing. Until it was discovered in his garage, no one had any idea where the X-Wing was, Kozicki told the magazine.
The model played the role of at least three starfighters in the film, including the one flown by lead actor Luke Skywalker. It was primarily used in the scenes of the famous “trench run” on the fictional Death Star.
“This model has not been exhibited or modified since ILM (Editor’s note: Lucas’ Studio Industrial Light & Magic),” Kozicki told “The Hollywood Reporter”.
