Police are asking for eyewitnesses who can help identify a car and its driver. The driver on Tuesday around 19.00 in the evening drove along the highway Riga-Jelgava, Eleja parish.
Inspectors suspect that the driver of the unidentified car, through reckless maneuvers, caused an accident between two vehicles – a John Deere tractor and an oncoming Renault Trafic.
Both in the words of the tractor driver and in the words of the driver of the oncoming minibus, the car overtaken the tractor, and as soon as it overtaken the tractor, it braked quickly and wanted to turn left onto the road leading to the Eleja manor park. Therefore, the tractor was forced to brake extremely. As a result, grain spilled from a trailer on the road, and it took some time for the road to be cleaned up.
