The Royal Canadian Mint announced on Monday that a medal for these essential workers is now on sale on its website at www.mint.ca, as well as in certain Canada Post offices, at CIBC. and TD Canada Trust.

The 2020 Recognition Medal, in nickel-plated steel, has a magnet and retails for $ 9.95.

On one side is illustrated a heart joined to a maple leaf, demonstrating the affectation of Canadians for these workers in health, safety and essential services.

On the other side, we see a heart in the center of the maple leaf, symbolizing grateful Canadians around this worker, explained the Royal Canadian Mint.

All of the net proceeds from the sale of the medals will be donated to the Breakfast Club emergency fund, which fights food insecurity.

The Breakfast Club feeds 243,500 children in 1,809 schools.

Its emergency fund is used to help families living with food insecurity during the pandemic. To date, it has distributed 8 million to 900 schools and community organizations.
