Director Rima Rahbani posted a very rare video of her mother, Ms. Fairouz on her Facebook account, pointing out that it dates back to 1994.
Fayrouz appeared accompanying the preparations for a concert for her which was held on September 17, 1994 in Martyrs’ Square in central Beirut, just 4 years after the end of the Lebanese civil war.
Al-Rahbani pointed out in his publication that the concert was organized by the Beirut Festival Committee, led by Professor Nidal Al-Ashkar, explaining that at that time a search was conducted with Ms. Fairouz to sing in the capital after an absence. which continued throughout the war, and added: “The idea of Fayrouz’s return was to make the Lebanese feel that the war is indeed over.”
In the context of his release, Rahbani revealed a plan at the time to cancel the Fayrouz concert, but it never worked.
