Books – Youssef Afifi:
A triple conjunction between Jupiter, Saturn and Mercury is observed in the sky of the Arab world on Sunday evening, about 45 minutes after sunset.
Eng. Majid Abu Zahra, head of the Astronomical Society in Jeddah, said that the three planets will form a small triangle and there may be a need to use telescopes to see this conjunction, given that the planets will be low towards the horizon, and the horizon must be fully exposed without obstacles such as buildings.
Abu Zahra added on the association’s official Facebook page that Jupiter will fall directly above Saturn. Although the brightness of Saturn is equivalent to the brightness of a star of the first degree – like the brightness of the brightest stars in our sky – yet the ringed planet cannot compete with Jupiter who outperforms. On it about 11 times, Jupiter is the fourth brightest celestial body, after the sun, moon and Venus, respectively, and to the upper left of Saturn (according to the observer) will see Mercury.
It is worth noting that, day after day, Jupiter and Saturn will descend towards the sunset site, and in return Mercury will rise away from the light of the sunset.
